Ch 12: Where I’m attracted

While sitting on a sofa in a room like an office, one of the bases of the underground society, Danis was listening to the situation around him in order to take overall control, he would listen to reports and give instructions.

Danis glanced at his subordinate, a little irritated by the occasional glances he felt around him, as if there was something he wanted to ask.

“What is it?”

One of his subordinates scratched his head with a slight shyness.

“Hm… the boy you brought here is rumored to be with the boss, so how is it actually?”

Danis felt a slight headache as his subordinate held up his little finger.

The people around him seemed to be curious about it and were looking at them. In his heart, he wanted to sigh, but he knew this would happen the moment he saw Alan yesterday.

Tim joked that he had done it, but I knew that he really meant it on purpose. It was his way of telling me that I shouldn’t have left him here if I was going to do it halfway.

He usually talks gently, which is his way of deceiving people, but when we aren’t paying attention, he catches us off guard. I think he’s half enjoying it, partly because of his personality.

The subordinate in front of him was waiting for Danis’ response.

“Don’t touch him, unless you want to get beaten half to death.” Danis said.

I said it in a half threatening way, and some of my men whistled.

It was a surprise to the people around me, since I had been trying not to keep anyone specific, and the person who rarely brought anyone brought a boy, so it was only natural that they would be curious.

“Enough about that, do you think you can find something about the case?”

Honestly, I don’t have time to deal with such topics. I don’t have time to talk about it.

“I’ve been asking around, but nothing has come up yet. I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that I’m not the only one who’s interested in this topic. Oh, and there’s one guy who really wants to meet with you, boss, but he won’t budge. What do you want me to do?”

A smile played on Danis’ cheek with interest; There were many people who wanted to see me, the central figure of darkness, but I was a little worried about the timing.

“I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out what’s going on, and if you see anything suspicious, detain him and bring him before me.”

“Yes, sir!”

In addition to that, Danis finished doling out instructions for all of them and took a sip of the coffee that Bourne, who wore a pair of large sunglasses, had made for him.

Danis had arranged for as much preparation as possible to be done now. The rest would be up to Prince Alan, and unless he decides what to do, Danis’ position is that he should use Alan as a bargaining chip in case someone who is trying to manipulate the government gets their hands on our side.

(But if Alan has the will to break this status quo, he can do so at… )

Danis touched the pendant under his clothes through the cloth and closed his eyes.

A faint but inappropriate smile appeared in Danis’ calm expression. When Bourne saw it, he felt chills run down his back for a moment, and pressed his finger against the sunglasses he was wearing.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen your face like that, it’s the first time.”

Tim came in through the door to the room, a look of amusement on his face.

“… Really? Well, it looks like I’m finally going to be able to hunt down someone I don’t like.”

“Mr. Danis hates me because I’m always out of luck.”

Tim smiled pitifully for the unidentified enemy.

“You have a lot of guts. It’s one of the things I buy into, but if you play too many pranks, I’ll get really angry.”

Danis sighed, rehashing Tim’s drugging of Alan. Tim laughed lightly and didn’t seem to mind.

“What? I’m sure you’re not complacent either, Danis. I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that.”

Danis sighed and then stood up from the sofa and pointed at Bourne, then gestured his thumb toward Tim.

“Squeeze lightly so that there is no long-term problems.”

“I understand.”

After saying that, when Danis left the room, sounds echoed out from inside the room, “eh? Ah, I’m sorry!!!” Along with Tim’s pitiful voice, I heard the rattling sound of joints popping out of their sockets.

This was a good punishment for Tim, who had the ability to escape to a certain extent because he was in charge of intelligence activities, but was still not nearly as strong as Bourne.

Danis put on a cool face and walked to his room.

It was now late in the evening. When he returned to his room, he saw Alan sleeping on the bed, unprotected, and Danis shrugged his shoulders at his lacking sense of danger. He watched Alan sleeping comfortably for a bit, then lightly pinched his nose with his finger.

The beautiful boy’s face crinkled up in a pitiful and ugly way, as if he couldn’t breathe, and then he groaned and his big blue eyes opened.

“Huh?”

He blinked a few times, as if surprised by the proximity of Danis’ face, and then Alan jumped up.

“What are you doing?”

He rubbed his nose and stared at Danis, somewhat embarrassed, as if he had never been woken up like that before.

“I wanted to ask you something. How’s your body?”

Alan sat up, complaining that he should have just woken him up like normal.

Apparently, he was able to get up.

“I’m still a little wobbly on my feet, but… ”

He turned his eyes away shyly and his cheeks were slightly red. His eyelashes, still fluttering innocently, which are the same color as his golden hair, had a way of making a man tense.

As Tim had advised him, he was afraid his men would do bad things if they left Alan alone, and Danis brought the wooden chair in his room to the side of the bed and sat down to face Alan.

“You can stay there. I’m sure you’re feeling a little better now. It’s about time you told me what happened.”

Alan nodded and sat down, facing Danis. Then he looked down slightly and made a sad expression, and after closing his eyes once, he gazed at Danis and explained the events one by one.

Danis put his hand on his chin as he generally understood the current situation from Alan’s point of view.

“So, the king was murdered, after all.”

“I’m sure you’re aware of that. I don’t think I said anything about it.”

Alan looked a little surprised, but not too much. This was because he was raised as a member of the royal family, and in his own way, he did not perceive things only on the spot.

However, unfortunately, the Prime Minister Gabriel seemed to have taken the prince lightly. He must have thought that he could easily dethrone him. He easily revealed that he was the ringleader of the plot, and Alan was forced to flee the castle.

From Danis’ point of view, it sounded like an easy way to escape due punishment for a powerful man in the position of Prime Minister.

I don’t know if he was relieved to have killed the king safely, but if he was such a stupid person, he could be.

“So, do you have any idea what you’re going to do now?”

Alan turned his face downward and clasped his hands together and put them in his lap. His hands were shaking, but his face was not frightened or tearful, it was scrunched up and he was holding back his anger.

“I don’t have the power right now. I don’t know what to do yet. But I can’t just let him have his way. If he gets all the power, what will happen to this country? If I’m truly angry about him driving my father to death, I can’t just hold back and watch the people in need!”

Alan’s eyes and words that made such a strong statement were noble. This nobility lives only in a person who cares about the country, and even though he is a boy, Alan really seems to be from the royal family.

Danis smiled thinly and patted Alan’s head, crinkling his hair.

Alan blinked a few times in surprise, then looked at Danis.

“Not bad. If you don’t have the strength, I can lend it to you.”

“What?” Alan turned to Danis, stunned.

“I’ve got a few things to finish with this Gabriel guy, so I’ll at least help you clear your nose.”

“Are you sure…?”

Alan looked at Danis with a pure face, but laughed with an incredulous smirk. Since it was apparently still unbelievable, Danis grabbed Alan’s chin and pulled him towards him.

“If you’re worried, why don’t you act like my mistress?”

His face, still with a doubtful smile, instantly reddened. It seemed that his reaction was that of a young boy who was raised very sheltered.

If he were a sly person, it wouldn’t be strange to take advantage of that position.

“Well, that mistress is… after all, do the people here think of it?”

I was expecting Alan to panic, but his face remained red and his gaze swept elsewhere. It seemed that Tim had told him something. If it wasn’t for that, he wouldn’t have even known that he was rumored to be a mistress. I hoped I hadn’t said anything unnecessary, but Tim’s tone from earlier made me a little nervous.

I heard Danis’ question. When I replied, my face turned red and I saw that it was like an apple, then let my thoughts drift until I returned to reality with a determined look, as if I’d come to a decision.

“If that’s… what I can do.”

Danis was surprised, as if he had been caught by a fox.

He had intended to make fun of him a little, but he hadn’t expected to be taken aback.

“It’s a joke. Don’t overdo it when you don’t have any drugs in you.”

Remembering the way Alan trembled at the sight of his body, Danis was taken aback by his bravado.

Alan made a musing face. He was probably angry about not being taken seriously.

Danis was about to stand up and release Alan’s chin to stop making fun of him, when Alan spoke up.

“I would never say something like this to someone I didn’t like.”

Danis stopped his attempt to stand up.

When I looked at Alan, I saw that his cheeks were still slightly red. At that moment, my body was tense, and before I knew it, I unconsciously pulled him toward me and robbed his lips.

“Hmm?”

Alan blinked and processed it, startled by the suddenness of the kiss. As Danis put his tongue in and twirled it around, Alan found it a little hard to breathe, and created a string of saliva when he pulled his mouth away. Alan’s eyes slowly opened, glazed over, still basking in the lingering sensation.

Unpalatable. Danis lightly pinched Alan’s cheek.

“… You shouldn’t say that so easily.”

Danis let go after seeing Alan grinning a little wearily.

Alan was easy to understand and mushy.

Danis sat down on the couch in the room and began to look through the newspaper that had been left there. He observed Alan out of the corner of his eye as he stopped looking at him and plopped down on the bed, sighing.

I know I’m a bit older than Alan, but if you’re not careful with children, you can get hit by their innocence that attracts people sometimes. Danis was a little upset that he had moved unconsciously on his own.

He was dismayed at himself because the one person who could throw off his self-control was someone whom he hadn’t seen for a decade.

It’s not like I’m in any trouble there.

It’s not like me, I thought, as I haphazardly put the newspaper on my desk, which I hadn’t actually read, and layed down on the sofa.

Danis later realized that it was bad to fall asleep there.
